Abhishek Bachchan Named in Guinness Book of World Record

Abhishek Bachchan Getting the Guinness World Record Abhishek Bachchan registered his name in prestigious Guinness Book of World Record. He created a world record for the maximum number of cities visited by a film star in 12 hours in February 2009. He is the first Indian film star to be included in the “Guinness Book of World Records”.

Abhishek Bachchan was honored with the Guinness Record at Chevrolet Apsara Awards presentation ceremony which was recently held in Mumbai.

Talking about the record, Abhishek Bachchan told reporters, “I’m quite excited by the success, more so because it has been done for a film that’s so close to my heart. I am delighted to receive this honor at the prestigious Apsara Awards in front of the entire film industry. The issues addressed by Delhi 6 are relevant and have a strong message for our countrymen. I’d dedicate this record to the people of India.”

Renowned Hollywood actor Will Smith made the same record for his movie “Hitch” by making the maximum number of public appearances at different cities in 12 hours. But his record was broken by Jargen Vogel and Daniel Bruhl (Germany) and now Abhishek Bachchan snatched the title from them and registered the record on his name.

The rapid public appearances were done under strict Guinness Book of World Record guidelines. Abhishek’s current record, equaled the early record within five hours, broken in eight hours. Abhishek had visited seven cities further extending the challenge. The last two cities took more than six hours.

The 33 year old Indian actor had done this record-breaking rapid tour to promote his movie “Delhi 6”, on February 22, 2009. On that Sunday afternoon at 12.05 pm in Ghaziabad in the presence of world media; Abhishek started his unique tour. He traveled to as many cities as possible within 12 hours. The cities covered by him are Ghaziabad, Noida, Faridabad, Delhi, Gurgaon, Chandigarh and Mumbai.

    sorry, he is not the first indian filmstar to be included in the Guinness Book of World Records. Earlier, Telugu comedian Brahmanandam was included for most number of fillms 754 films in a single language.
