Amitabh Bachchan: The ‘Angry Old Man’ Warns Journalists

Famous Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has waned journalists who are spreading rumors about his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai’s health. The Angry Old (young) Man called it “the lowest quality of journalism”.

Big B was very annoyed with the article, published in Mumbai Mirror, on Thursday. The article alleged that Aishwarya had been trying to conceive for a long time but was unable to do so because of stomach tuberculosis. But Amitabh said this was totally false.

The 67 year old actor said that, if anyone spoke derogatorily about her, he would fight till his last breath.

Big B posted a message on his blog site, “I am too incensed and angered by the contents above! Not a single portion of the article is true…I am the head of my family. Aishwarya is not my daughter-in-law, she is my daughter, a woman, a lady in my house and home.”

He also wrote, “If anyone will speak derogatorily about her, I shall fight for her till my last breath. If you have something to say to the men in the house, Abhishek or me, I shall bear it. But, if you shall make injudicious remarks on the women in my home, I shall not tolerate it”.

The veteran actor posted a copy of the article on his blog and branded the news “completely false, completely fabricated, unsubstantiated, insensitive and of the lowest quality of journalism there ever was”.

Big B will Take Care of a 90 Year Old Freedom Fighter

The megastar of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan has decided to take care of a 90 year old freedom fighter. The actor has been so much moved with her fighting spirit that he decided to take care of her for the next five years.

The 67 year old actor made this declaration at the IBN18 Network’s Citizen Journalist Awards. He says all Gayatri Devi wants is her due.

In his blog he posted a message, “I am moved by their plight. Particularly that of the 90-year-old lady and have announced that I shall take care of her pension for the next five years. She blesses me.”

He also wrote, “She has only that element of humanity left in her. She can barely walk. And she is old. And all she wants is her due – her pension – Rs.3,500 per month from the government.”

The old freedom fighter, Gayatri Devi had been on dharna on the streets of Delhi for the past four years, fighting to get her freedom fighter’s pension restored. She was getting money from the Bihar government under the “Samman” pension scheme for freedom fighters since 1997. Though she has relevant documents to support her claim but suddenly in 2002 her pension was stopped.

She was told that her name appeared in a list of fake freedom fighters. She approached many prominent leaders and got them to write applications on her behalf, but nothing happened.

To help Gayatri Devi, CNN-IBN filed an RTI on her behalf. Soon after, the Delhi government interfered and they moved Gayatri Devi into an old age home and granted her a destitute pension. But she said that her battle will continue till the Bihar government restores her freedom fighter’s pension.

Bollywood Millennium megastar and an enthusiastic blogger, Amitabh Bachchan, is now preferring voice blogs.

According to the latest gossip, Big B chose vocal blogging instead of usual blogging to stay more close to his fans, so that they can hear his thoughts anytime and anywhere at the push of a button on their mobile phones.

Naughty Big B Stole Shah Rukh’s Lunch

It seems that Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan is so much inspired by his recently played character Auro (movie ‘Paa’) that he is still playing pranks on other people. The latest prey of Big B’s naughty deeds was none other than the super star Shah Rukh Khan, when he stole foods from his vanity van.

The 67 year old actor did this naughty act in a recent award ceremony where he was present for the promotion of his upcoming movie ‘Teen Patti’. The veteran actor in his blog wrote, “I came in early and went straight to the back into the vanity van, to get ready and be made up for the presentation of the `Teen Patti` promotion skit we were doing.”

He also wrote, “Hunger pangs almost ripped my stomach apart and I stepped out and into Shah Rukh`s vanity (van) opposite mine and stole some of his salad that he was gorging into – he having missed his lunch as well.”

Big B has a great sense of humor, so he usually plays this kind of pranks. He got the best actor award at the 16th Annual STAR Screen Awards for his comic timing and realistic performance in “Paa.

Amitabh Bachchan to be a News Reader

After playing the role of a 13 year old kid ‘Auro’ in “Paa”, Amitabh Bachchan will be seen as news reader. Big B is playing the role of media commentator in his upcoming movie, Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Rann’. To promote this movie the megastar will appear on a news channel doing a year-end round-up of activities.

The veteran actor is the first among the Bollywood actors who will be going on the national television as a news anchor for a news channel (Times Now).

Movie Runn’s co-producer Sheetal Talwar said, “And we aren’t just talking about entertainment-related activities. She added, “And it was events from the world of global politics. Mr. Bachchan just took over the television space as though he had done news analysis all his life. It was an amazing experience.”

On Thursday night, year’s last day, Mr. Bachchan will talk about around 6 global issues of 2009: Indian national politics, terrorism, cricket, swine flu, recession and Obama on an hour-long segment.

This would be the first of several media-related activities that Big B is scheduled to participate in before ‘Rann’ releases.

Amitabh Bachchan usually does several acts on Television to promote his movies by appearing in the respective characters. And this time he will be a news anchor.

“Paa” is Releasing with 700 Prints in 20 Countries

Big B’s much awaited film “Paa” is releasing this Friday in 20 countries and with 700 prints. In the film Amitabh Bachchan is playing a character of a 13 year old boy suffering from “Progeria”. It is a disease that speeds up the ageing process.
“Paa” is being released by the AB Corp Ltd. in association with Reliance BIG Pictures. The film is going to release in India as well as in the other countries like Britain, Canada, US, UAE, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. The director of the movie is R. Balakrishnan. Abhishek and Vidya Balan are playing the characters of Amitabh’s parents. The film is doing extensive marketing and promotion campaigns.

Idea Network has tied up with the film “Paa” for “Talk to Auro” activity. It will allow callers to leave messages for Auro (Amitabh’s character in the film) and in return receive calls from Auro on a pre-determined date. Idea Network is also providing the ring back tones in Auro’s voice and other value added services for promoting “Paa”.

‘Bajaj Allianz Company’ has tied up for an integrated TV ad on Child Plans that has been interspersed with the film’s promos and is currently on air. Besides this the film’s official Radio Partner is Big FM.

“Specially Crafted Clay Pieces to Form My Look in ‘Paa’”, Says Amitabh Bachchan

Legendary star Amitabh Bachchan, is playing a 12-year-old progeria patient in “Paa”. He says he had to stick on several pieces of specially crafted clay to get the right look for the movie. The actor has already uploaded the first look/ poster of his film on his blog bigb.bigadda.com on Wednesday. He also wrote a brief note on the disease “Progeria” and how a child suffers from progeria. The disease generally causes premature ageing among children.

Amitabh posted, “The face that you see is the result of deep research. Kids affected by this problem lose all their hair, become bald and their veins begin to show prominently on their heads, which enlarge to a size beyond normal. Their teeth and eyes suffer also…”

Reportedly, R. Balki hired international make-up artist Stephan Dupuis to get the special look for the character. Stephen did Robin Williams` make-up in “Mrs Doubtfire”.

The actor blogged, “The prosthetic process is arduous…Around eight pieces specially designed through laborious clay models are most meticulously stuck on to the face. Once the make-up starts, it is impossible to move even a few centimeters. Eating and drinking has to be avoided and you cannot talk because it displaces the pieces over the contours of the face. Separate pieces form the entire look”.

He said his hearing used to be impaired when his make-up and the silicone to cover his own ears. Amitabh added, “Two small holes are bored into the skull so some sound can go through. Also when you speak it reverberates inside the skull and you constantly feel you are inside a tunnel with pronounced echo.”

Amitabh said, “Eye lids come on close to the eyes, the forehead is another piece, the nose, the two cheeks, the upper and lower lip, the chin and finally the neck all get stuck on and then blended through an intricate electronic spray which merges all the pieces to look like one cohesive mass”.

To look authentic, he has to shave off all hair on his hands, arms, chest and legs regularly so they could highlight the veins by coloring them.

“Paa” is being made under the banner of AB Corp and also stars his son Abhishek. Vidya Balan is cast opposite of Abhishek in the film. Abhishek is playing the role of father of Amitabh Bachchan in the film.

Amitabh Bachhan Gets Threatening SMS

According to a source, Amitabh Bachchan has received a threatening SMS on his mobile phone from an unknown person. The actor has revealed on his blog that the message was sent for visiting both temples and mosques.

He said on his blog, “That I visit a Muslim Dargha and a Hindu Temple has been viciously criticized by an unknown element on my mobile. He says it is incorrect for me to do so and that I should never do it again.”

The thespian dared the message sender by saying, “I am going to-do it again, and shall continue to do it. And I want to see how you are going to stop me. If you have the courage and the guts come and get me”.

Criticizing the person, Big B wrote, the element like these that go through the psyche of vulnerable and innocent people and subject them unjustified bias.

The actor added, “I strongly object to it and abhor the existence of such elements in the society. This gentleman even threatens me by getting personal. He says that my film ‘Aladin’ shall not have success because of this deed of mine”.

Big B concluded, “I do have his mobile number and I do have a name too. I believe that there is no law that can protect such atrocious uttering. We live in a temperate secular society where we learn to respect all religions. My belief is of my own making. If the Temple or the Mosque or a dargha has no objection to my visits; if my Constitution and the law of the country give me that freedom and if I do not offend them, then who is this man to stop me or correct me”.

Amitabh Bachchan Says He is Incapable to Direct a Film

Many talented and veteran actors are experimenting their luck as directors but Bollywood super star Amitabh Bachchan said that he is unable to direct a film.

He told reporters that, “Direction is a very difficult and classified job, which I feel I am incapable of doing. Since I don’t possess the skills to make a film, I would not like to do it. I am happy doing the other things I have been doing,”

While talking to reporters Mr Bachchan refused to comment on the FIR lodged against him and Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh in Kanpur. He said, “I have nothing to say and I am not concerned. Amar Singhji has already explained.”

The super star is looking forward to his two upcoming movies, ‘Aladin’ and ‘Paa’. He also cleared that he is not working on any film on Taj Mahal but he told that, “My forthcoming film `Johny Mastana` does have a scene of the Taj Mahal.”

Answering the question of when he will become Grandfather, Mr. Bachchan said “It’s not in my hand.”

Talking about his relation with media Amitabh Bachchan said, “I feel that Indian media is very capable. I completely respect the media and I don’t have any problem with them. It’s just that since I have a medium today to express myself so whenever there is a correction to be made I do that through my blog”.

Amitabh Bachchan Doesn’t Show His Anger

Amitabh Bachchan has learned to live with controversies. The 66-year-old superstar admits he sometimes gets angry – and when that happens he says he takes care not to show his irritation, before media.

He said, “For celebrities, when you create a controversy, it happens and even when you don’t create one, it still happens. Like if I sneeze, it can cause a controversy; if I don’t, then also it causes one.”

Mr. Bachchan added, “We (celebrities) have to live with that (controversies). I have accepted that controversies are bound to happen with me. I do get angry about it at times but we don’t let it show – not in front of the media at least.”

The actor was in the capital for the launch of ‘Bigg Boss’ that goes on the air Sunday. The actor spoke about the new concept of “pop philosopher”, “This word has been created by the channel and I am partially to blame for it. When we were in talks for the show, I kept asking Colors officials about what it is that may be different from what you have been doing.”

The mystery will reveal this Sunday with the introductory episode of ‘Bigg Boss’. The show host will be seen twice in a week, reporting the situation of the house.
