Javed Akhtar Dismisses The Fatwa Against ‘Vande Mataram’
Renowned and veteran lyricist and script writer Javed Akhtar dismissed the fatwa of Jamait-e-Ulema Hind over National song ‘Vande Mataram’.
The National song ‘Vande Mataram’ is a part of novel ‘Anandamath’ written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee. The novel ‘Anandamath’ suggests that the ‘barbaric’ Muslims are villains and Britishers rescued us from them. So Jamait-e-Ulema Hind prohibited ‘Vande Mataram’.
But the stanza that was selected as the national song, only praises motherland. So according to Javed Akhatar it should be personal choice to sing the national song. He said, “The objection is redundant. You don’t want to sing Vande Mataram? Don’t! Who is forcing you? I sing it. I don’t see it as objectionable. If you do, don’t sing it. Why do you insist on bringing such irrelevant matters centre stage?”
Javed Akhatar, who is considered as nationalist believes in strengthening the country not dividing its people on the basis of religion said, “ It’s a non-issue and unnecessarily provocative. I’ve written songs with Vande Mataram in them. I used the term Vande Mataram in Priyadarshan’s Saza-e-Kala Pani. Then I used the term for a song in Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani and finally for a song that’s used at the military academy at Dehradun. Please don’t make an issue out of a non-issue. These are non-entities.”

Yes, he is absolutely right…No-one can force to do it or not….Every person knows about his/her rights….and having individual opinion for same matter..so its very wrong decision just to create an Issue of non-issue Matter…
Please stay away from all this stupidity…..
