Lily Allen Defeats Nude Dito and Obama to Become the Best Cover Girl
Creativity is always appreciated in comparison to nudity. The cover page of ‘Q’ magazine that won the best magazine cover awards this time proves so. ‘Q’ magazine cover featuring Lily Allen with two Panthers has beaten Barack Obama and a naked Beth Ditto to win the top prize at the inaugural ‘Maggie’ awards for best magazine cover of the year.
Though, Naked Dito grabs a Maggie Award, for the debut issue of ‘Love’ magazine in fashion category but was not able to become as popular as Allen on the cover page of ‘Q’ Magazine. The ‘Q’ Magazine featuring Allen won Award in celebrity and entertainment category.
Even, Barack Obama, who featured on two respective Magazines cover page, lost to the charisma of Allen.
‘Q’ Magazines editor Paul Rees, said: “Lily Allen is hardly underexposed, so it was essential for us to come up with something that was both striking and unique.
A critic added, “Lily wasn’t a core artist for the ‘Q’ readership and had heavy media coverage at the time. The solution – add panthers and a creative photo shoot – produced a truly memorable result which is our favorite cover this year.”
