Michael Jackson’s Movie “This Is It” to Release in China

Michael Jackson’s documentary “This Is It” has been selected as one of the China’s 20 annual foreign movie import slots. Chinese Censor Board has approved the film before the weeklong National Day holiday that started on Oct. 1, and the film will release globaly on 28th of October.

Li Chow, Sony Pictures Releasing International’s general manager for China, said,“We’ll do as many prints as possible. It depends on the labs”. China has allowed only 20 major foreign films to be showcased.

The film is directed by longtime Jackson’s collaborator Kenny Ortega. He said, “This Is It” draws on hundreds of hours of footage as Jackson prepared for a series of London concerts for which he was rehearsing before his death on June 25.”
