Pamela Anderson in an Anti- Seal Hunt Campaign
The Canadian born star Pamela Anderson wants to save the seals from the annual hunt on Canada’s East Coast. The “Baywatch” star, who’s also an animal rights activist is taking part in an ad campaign by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) with several other celebrities.
Anderson visited the Ontario provincial legislature on Friday to introduce the new ads which will also feature singers Sarah McLachlan and Kelly Osborne with celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.
Reportedly, she revealed her anger about the seal hunt and has considered the thing as “Barbaric and Cruel”. She expressed her embarrassment for her native country.
On the contrary, The indigenous Inuit community says the seal hunt provides crucial jobs and food for villagers in isolated northern communities in Canada.
According to the report, Canada’s East Coast seal hunt is the largest in the world, where an average of 300,000 harp seals is killed annually.
