Review: Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani
Raj Kumar Santoshi is back with another rib tickling comedy after Andaz Apna Apna. “AAA” became super hit but the director moved towards making sensitive films like Damini, Lazza, Khakee, The Legend of Bhagat Singh, Halla Bol etc. The famous director took complete 15 years to try out another comedy venture.
This time he is back with “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahini”. And the most interesting thing is that he has cast the cutest couple Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif.
The story revolves around the lead protagonist “Prem” played by Ranbir Kapoor. The hero is a ninth class drop out and is the life president of “Happy Club”. Prem hangs out with all the losers in town, calls a Ferrari a “Fawwari” and kidnaps young girls to send them packing to their boyfriends.
The confusion starts when Prem kidnaps “Jennifer” aka “Jenny” played by Katrina, by mistake. Then he falls in love with Jenny. Prem takes time to learn, along with another fact of life that makes it difficult for him to cross the thin line between best buddy and boyfriend. The plot progresses like a jolly ride as Ranbir tries to bring Katrina’s love story to a logical end.
The story mainly has nothing to convey much but the performances, situations, moments and especially the one-liners have raised the film to another level. Now speaking about the performances, Ranbir has proved again, and reminded the full enthusiastic performance of “Saawaria”. Katrina has proved that she is not only a dumb beauty and can do some acting too. Her comic timing is excellent. Even we must say about her facial expressions in the film.
The film has emerged as a beautiful team work. Because character artists like Zakir Hussain, Darshan Zariwala, and Smita Jaykar have made their mark in every scene.
Now moving on to the music of Pritam, the album must be considered as his one of the best. Singers like Neeraj Shridhar, Atif Aslam, Hard Kaur, Sunidhi Chauhan and Mika have given melodious . The album is a complete package of a good blend. Especially the Sufi song sung by Atif is very soothing.
The film is a light hearted comedy and promises to give fulltoo entertainment. If you are looking for a roller coaster ride then the film is for you.

I am the writer of this film review. I myself have seen the movie before writing this review. If you have forgotten the story I must make you remember that “Happy Clubs” member usually work to re unite the lovers. Though the “Kidnap” thing was not successful it is another issue. And the opinion that Katrina did a good job in her role was my personal opinion; I am not binding you to have the same opinion. Katrina is improving day by day in all her films and that’s a truth. It is also acknowledged by all leading critics of Indian cinema. Now if u didn’t like her performance than it’s completely your opinion and I respect it. Please collect data to see whether “Andaz Apna Apna” was hit or not. It had a good Box Office collection and was liked by most of the movie buffs. Anyway, I liked that you read it.
