The Hurt Locker Wins 6 Oscars

Jeff Bridges with His Oscar Award The Hurt Locker won the best picture award at the 82nd Oscar awards here, crushing high expectations for James Cameron’s blockbuster Avatar.

The Hurt Locker won a total of six Oscars including, best picture, best director (Kathryn Bigelow), best film editing (Bob Murawski and Chris Innis), best sound editing (Paul N.J. Ottosson), best sound mixing (Paul N.J. Ottosson and Ray Beckett) and best original screenplay (Mark Boal).

Avatar ended up with three awards including best art direction (Rick Carter and Robert Stromberg for art direction); Kim Sinclair for set decoration), best cinematography (Mauro Fiore) and best visual effects (Joe Letteri, Stephen Rosenbaum, Richard Baneham and Andrew R. Jones).

Jeff Bridges and Sandra Bullock won the best leading actor and actress awards for ‘Crazy Heart” and “The Blind Side” respectively.
